3D printing week two

Today we did the second lesson in 3D printing.

The students were taught what engineers do. They then worked through a design brief pictured below to come up with a design for a key ring.

The students were then stepped through the process of how to use the 123D software to create their own keyring and they will print them next week.

It was really interesting to notice with the students how they would pick their first idea and not be willing to change and modify it much at all. Something else I observed was what I find in class where you need to be so vigilant that the students are Stopping to listen to the instructions and not just continue working.
